The process for an ADHD assessment is as follows:
- Initial consultation – An 1 hour comprehensive background information is gathered including developmental history, medical, academic, occupational, social/family relationships and any other issues or concerns. This is to gain a holistic view of the adult to inform interpretation and recommendations as appropriate.
- Testing – This will depend on the ability and willingness of the client. Please note the assessment will be completed via telehealth.
- Scoring and interpretation – The assessment(s) will be scored and interpreted against standardised norms.
- Report writing – The background information, behavioural observations during testing, test results and consequent interpretations will be combined into a comprehensive report that includes relevant recommendations as appropriate, to the home and educational setting.
- Feedback session – A feedback session where the outcomes of the testing, the report and relevant recommendations for school or home are explained in detail.
Please note that such assessment should be discussed with a Psychiatrist to assist with further intervention.
